Christmas parties 2026: when to make your booking

If you are reading this in autumn, enquire now. Friday and Saturday nights in the festive season are the first dates to go at any city centre restaurant, followed by Thursdays, and the teams that get the night they want are the ones that ask before the clocks change.

You do not need every detail settled to start a booking. A rough headcount, a couple of possible dates and a budget per head are enough for us to tell you what is available. If your first-choice Friday has gone, consider an earlier week in December, a Wednesday or Thursday, or a long festive lunch. Midweek Christmas parties are usually easier to book and the room is calmer, which suits teams who want to talk. Siamais is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and open as normal around them.

A Christmas party venue Birmingham teams of any size can use

There are two ways to run a work Christmas party here, and the size of your team decides between them. Smaller teams book a table, a gold birdcage booth or a sectioned area and eat from a festive banqueting menu alongside other parties. You get the noise of a full restaurant in December without paying for the building. One thing we do not do is sell tickets to a shared party night: the booking is your own table or your own venue. Teams who want to celebrate the festive season over dinner and cocktails, more than round a disco, are the ones this venue in Birmingham suits.

Larger companies hire Siamais exclusively, and private Christmas parties are where the event space earns its keep. The whole venue takes 120 guests for a seated dinner or 150 standing, and hire starts from £2,000 depending on the day and time. Exclusive hire lets you choose the format: a canapé and cocktail reception, a buffet, or a sit-down three course meal, with a bespoke menu if you want one. We can also bring in the photographers, decorators and entertainers we already work with, so the booking can be all-inclusive. The bar and restaurant sit under one roof, so the after-dinner drinks happen in the same place and nobody gets lost on Broad Street between venues.

  • Small teams: shared tables or booths, festive banqueting menu per head
  • Whole company: exclusive hire, 120 seated or 150 standing, from £2,000

Menus and prices: what we can tell you today

Siamais takes Christmas bookings and runs Christmas cocktails each year, but no festive menu price is published at the time of writing, so we are not going to guess one here. Ask for this year's Christmas menu when you enquire and you will get the current dishes and the price per head.

For budgeting in the meantime, the year-round banqueting menus are a fair guide to how group dining is priced: £41.95pp for the vegan Grounded in Siam, £44.95pp for Taste of Siam and £49.95pp for The Siam Feast, each three courses. One rule to know: from 1 to 31 December, only the Christmas menus are served on Friday and Saturday evenings. Bookings of seven or fewer get the festive set menu, and bookings of eight or more get the festive banqueting menu. On other days, check with the team which menus are running for your date.

A Christmas dinner that can cater for everyone: halal, vegan and gluten free

The hardest part of organising an office Christmas meal is rarely the date. It is the spreadsheet of dietary needs. Thai cooking makes that easier than a turkey dinner does. Chicken and lamb dishes at Siamais are halal. There is a strong vegetarian and vegan range, shown by the fact that the year-round banqueting list includes a complete vegan menu with dishes such as vegetable massaman curry and tofu in choo chee paste. Gluten free options are marked on the set menus.

Allergies are catered for, provided the kitchen knows in advance. Collect requirements from your team when you collect their RSVPs, and send one consolidated list to us before the event. Guests with allergies should also speak to the duty manager on the night. Non-drinkers are looked after too: the Koh Mak list has eight mocktails at £7.95, so the colleague who is driving or does not drink gets more than a cola.

Deposits and paying for a work Christmas party

For exclusive hire, a 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your date, and it is deducted from the final bill on the day. A minimum spend applies to every private hire. All food and drink supplied by Siamais counts towards it, including the bar tab, so a team that enjoys its cocktails will reach the figure faster than one that sticks to the meal.

Table bookings take a £5 per person deposit, redeemed against the bill. Because a private hire deposit is non-refundable, get sign-off from whoever holds the budget before you pay, and fix your headcount as firmly as you can. If the company is paying for food but staff are buying their own drinks, say so when you enquire so the bill can be set up to match. Ask the team about payment arrangements for your company at the same time; we would rather agree them at the start than on the night.

Getting everyone home from Birmingham city centre

A Christmas party is only a success if people get home safely, and Oozells Square is well placed for that. The West Midlands Metro stops at Brindleyplace and at Library in Centenary Square, both a few minutes on foot, and runs to Grand Central for New Street station and out towards Wolverhampton. Walking to New Street takes about 16 minutes, or a taxi takes around 7.

Five Ways is the closest station for colleagues on the Cross-City line. Buses leave from Broad Street, 3 minutes away, and Sheepcote Street, 4 minutes away. Anyone driving, perhaps the designated driver on the mocktails, can park at Q-Park Brindleyplace. It is cheaper when booked through YourParkingSpace, and the code SIAMAIS10 takes another 10% off. For teams coming in from outside the city, the M6 at junction 6 is under 20 minutes away and the M5 at junction 2 is under 30.

Booking details Christmas party organisers ask about

There is no cloakroom at Siamais. In December that matters, so warn the team to leave laptop bags at the office and expect coats on chair backs. The dress code is smart casual: no sportswear, smart trainers are fine, Christmas jumpers are your call. Friday to Sunday is over 18s only and Challenge 25 applies, so apprentices and younger staff should bring ID. The venue has disabled access and facilities, and the terraces are heated and covered.

If the people signing off the budget want to see the place, send them the 3D virtual tour and the events brochure PDF. Both show the teal velvet booths, the hanging birdcages and the long back-lit bar. To check dates, use the enquiry form, call 0121 643 3993 or email birmingham@siamais.co.uk with your numbers and preferred nights.

Questions people ask

When should I book an office Christmas party at Siamais?

As early as possible, and ideally by early autumn. December Friday and Saturday nights are the first dates to fill. Enquire with two or three possible dates and a rough headcount, and consider midweek evenings or a festive lunch if your first choice has gone.

Where can I have a Christmas party in the West Midlands?

Of the Christmas party venues in the West Midlands, the ones in Birmingham city centre are the easiest to get a team to and home from, because of New Street station and the tram. Siamais is in Brindleyplace, a few minutes from two tram stops on the line between New Street and Wolverhampton, and takes anything from a table of eight to a corporate Christmas celebration for 150 standing.

How much is the Christmas menu at Siamais?

No Christmas menu price is published at the time of writing, so ask for this year's Christmas menu when you enquire. As a guide to group pricing, the year-round banqueting set menus cost £41.95, £44.95 and £49.95 per person for three courses.

How big a Christmas party can Siamais take?

With exclusive hire, Siamais takes up to 120 guests seated or 150 standing. Whole-venue hire starts from £2,000 and varies by day and time. Smaller teams can book tables, gold birdcage booths or a sectioned area without hiring the whole venue.

Can you cater for halal, vegan and gluten free guests?

Yes. Chicken and lamb dishes are halal, there is a strong vegetarian and vegan range, and gluten free options are marked on the set menus. Allergies are catered for when the team is told in advance, so send a full list of dietary needs before your party.

What deposit is needed for a Christmas party?

Exclusive hire needs a 50% non-refundable deposit, deducted from the bill on the day. Table bookings take a £5 per person deposit, also taken off the bill. A minimum spend applies to private hire, and all food and drink counts towards it.

Is Siamais open over Christmas?

Siamais is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. It is open on its usual hours on the other days: 12pm to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, 12pm to midnight on Friday and 12pm to 1am on Saturday.

How do guests get home after the party?

The Brindleyplace and Library tram stops are a few minutes on foot, with trams to Grand Central for New Street station. New Street is about a 16 minute walk or a 7 minute taxi. Buses run from Broad Street, and drivers can use Q-Park Brindleyplace.

What should I check before booking a Christmas party venue?

Five things. What the price includes (food only, or drinks, music and staffing too). Whether the set menu genuinely covers your halal, vegan, gluten free and allergy guests. How much deposit is due, when final numbers are needed and what happens if people drop out. How everyone gets home. And your arrival time, how long you have the space and when the bar closes. Ask us any of these when you enquire.
