A cocktail bar in Birmingham with no pressure to eat

The name Siamais comes from Siamese twins, meaning two. That is the idea behind the place: a Thai restaurant and a cocktail bar sharing one room, each good enough to stand alone.

Drinkers are welcome on their own terms. Take a booth for a round of cocktails before a show, meet friends after work, or let dinner run on into the bar. The expertise is behind the counter either way.

Classics, spritzes, wine and eight mocktails

The Siamais Classics list has 14 drinks. The Pornstar Martini is made with Stoli vodka, butterscotch, pineapple and passionfruit, with Prosecco alongside, and the Espresso Martini comes plain, vanilla or caramel. Cocktails cost £11.50 to £13.25.

Fancy something lighter? There is a short spritz list, wine by the glass or bottle, champagne, and draught and bottled beer. If you are not drinking, the Koh Mak list has eight mocktails, among them a Thai Milk Tea with tapioca pearls, so there is more to sip than a cola while the rest of the table is on Martinis.

Before and after the show

Two minutes from the ICC, five from the arena

Symphony Hall, the ICC, The Rep and Utilita Arena are all a short walk away, which makes the bar an easy first stop or a last one. We are open until midnight on Fridays and 1am on Saturdays.

In the week the music stays relaxed. At weekends it moves to soulful house, deep house and dance classics, and the heated terraces on Oozells Square fill up.

Bar FAQs

Before you head over

Can I come to Siamais just for cocktails?

Yes. Siamais was built as two nights out under one roof. Drinkers are welcome with no pressure to eat, and the bar team will happily look after you at a table or a booth.

How much are cocktails at Siamais?

Most cocktails are between £11.50 and £13.25. The Bang Pai Falls sharing cocktail, served with fire and smoke, is £25.

What time does the cocktail bar close?

11pm Sunday to Thursday, midnight on Friday and 1am on Saturday.

Do you run discounted drinks deals?

No, there is no regular discount slot on cocktails. When we do have a drinks offer, members of our sign-up list hear first. For unlimited drinks, look at bottomless brunch on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Do I need a booking for drinks?

Not always. Walk-ins are welcome when there is space. Friday and Saturday nights are the exception, so make a booking and write drinks only in the notes. Table bookings take a £5 per person deposit, which comes off the bill.

Do you serve champagne and wine as well as cocktails?

Yes. The list has six champagnes, from Telmont to Dom Perignon, along with white, red and rosé wine, a spritz list, and draught and bottled beer including Singha and Chang.

Is there a dress code?

Smart casual. No sportswear, and smart trainers are fine. We run Challenge 25, so bring photo ID: a driving licence or passport.

Do you serve non-alcoholic cocktails?

Yes. The Koh Mak list has eight mocktails, made with the same care as the rest of the menu.

Where is the cocktail bar?

Oozells Square, just behind Brindleyplace, at 6-7 Brindley Place, Oozells Street, Birmingham B1 2HS. It is two to three minutes from the ICC and Symphony Hall and about five from Utilita Arena.
