Cocktail Masterclass Birmingham
Private Group Sessions by Enquiry
Siamais arranges private group masterclasses by enquiry, subject to availability, at its cocktail bar in Brindleyplace. If you are planning a cocktail masterclass Birmingham hen party, birthday or team social, tell us your date, numbers and the drinks you want to learn, and the team will come back with what is possible.

Cocktail masterclass Birmingham: how it works at Siamais
Siamais does not sell an off-the-shelf masterclass with a fixed timetable that you can add to a basket. What we offer is private group masterclasses by enquiry, subject to availability. Each one is arranged around the group, the date and what the bar team can staff on the day.
Because of that, you will not find a price, a running time or a set format on this page. Those depend on your numbers, the day of the week and the drinks involved, and the team will confirm them in writing when you enquire. We would rather tell you that upfront than publish a number that turns out to be wrong for your group.
What we can tell you is what the bar is like. It is a full cocktail bar inside a Thai restaurant in Oozells Square, with a 20 drink signature list called the Book of Siam, 14 classics and a long back-lit bar to stand behind.
What your group can ask for
A private enquiry means you can shape the session instead of picking from a menu of packages. Put these in your first message and the team can give you a clear answer quickly.
- The cocktails you would most like to make, whether house signatures or classics.
- An alcohol-free option for anyone not drinking. The bar has eight Koh Mak mocktails, so this is an easy request.
- Food before or after: nibbles, a Thai meal from the a la carte menu or a banqueting set menu for the group.
- A semi-private area. The gold birdcage booths suit smaller groups, and private hire is possible for larger ones.
- A company-branded cocktail for corporate groups, which the bar already creates for venue hire clients.
- Any access needs. The venue has disabled access and facilities.

House cocktails worth learning
The best masterclass drinks teach a technique you can repeat at home. These are all real drinks from our menu, and good ones to request. Which of them can be included depends on the session the team agrees with you.
- 1941 (£12.50 at the bar): our house signature of Briottet lychee liqueur, elderflower liqueur and apple. A lesson in balancing sweet and sharp.
- Pornstar Martini (£13): Stoli vodka, butterscotch, pineapple, passionfruit and Prosecco. A crowd-pleaser for hen parties.
- Lychee Margarita (£13): Rooster Rojo tequila, lychee liqueur and lime with a raspberry sugar rim. Good for learning how to rim a glass.
- Botanical Bliss (£12): The Botanist gin with Thai basil, grapes and elderflower. Fresh herbs and muddling.
- Biscoff Daiquiri (£12): Havana Especial rum, cream and caramel. A dessert drink that is all about the shake.
- Espresso Martini (£12.50): Stoli vodka, Kahlua and espresso, and how to get the foam to hold.
- Toffee Old Fashioned (£12.50): Toki whisky, dark chocolate and caramel. A stirred drink, for contrast with the shaken ones.
Hens, birthdays and team socials
Hen parties are the obvious fit. A masterclass gives the afternoon a focus, works for a group who do not all know each other yet, and the room photographs well, with teal velvet, gold birdcages and hanging lanterns. If you are planning a full hen day, ask about following the session with bottomless brunch on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, or with dinner.
For birthdays, it is a way to do something together before sitting down to eat. For team socials, making drinks side by side is a better ice-breaker than a quiz, and colleagues who do not drink can make mocktails alongside everyone else.
A few ground rules apply to any session. Guests must be over 18 and Challenge 25 applies, so bring ID. From Friday to Sunday the whole venue is over 18s only. Dress code is smart casual, with no sportswear.

Pairing a masterclass with Thai food
Making cocktails on an empty stomach is a bad plan, and this is where being a restaurant helps. Most groups will want to eat, and you can ask the team to build food into the booking.
For larger groups, the banqueting set menus keep things simple because everyone gets the same spread at a fixed price per head. Grounded in Siam is £41.95 per person and fully vegetarian and vegan. Taste of Siam is £44.95 per person. The Siam Feast is £49.95 per person, with an optional lobster middle course at £9.50. Smaller groups can order from the a la carte menu, which runs to 82 dishes, from satay and golden bags to panang curry, drunken noodles and weeping tiger steak.
Thai food and cocktails suit each other. Lychee, lime, basil and coconut run through both menus, so a 1941 next to a green curry makes sense. Chicken and lamb dishes are halal, and allergies are catered for with notice.
How to enquire, and an honest alternative
Use the enquiry form on this page, call 0121 643 3993 or email birmingham@siamais.co.uk. Include your preferred date and a back-up, the time of day, group size, the occasion, the drinks you are interested in and whether you want food. Remember that every session is subject to availability, so nothing is confirmed until the team has replied and you have agreed the details.
If you need a masterclass with a published price and instant online booking, we are not the right fit, and it would be wrong to pretend otherwise. At the time of writing, The Cocktail Club and Manahatta, both on Temple Street, advertise bookable cocktail masterclasses on their own websites. If you want a private session in a Thai cocktail bar in Brindleyplace, with a Thai dinner to follow, send us an enquiry.
Ask about a group masterclass
Tell us your date, numbers and the occasion. Masterclasses are arranged privately for groups and are subject to availability, so the team will come back to you with what is possible.
Questions people ask
Does Siamais offer cocktail masterclasses?
Siamais offers private group masterclasses by enquiry, subject to availability. There is no public timetable or online checkout. You send the team your date, group size and the drinks you would like to learn, and they confirm whether a session can be arranged and what it would involve.
How much is a cocktail masterclass at Siamais?
There is no published price. The cost of a private group masterclass at Siamais depends on your numbers, the date, the cocktails involved and whether you add food, so the team quotes each enquiry individually. Call 0121 643 3993 or email birmingham@siamais.co.uk for a quote for your group.
How many people do you need for a cocktail masterclass?
Siamais does not publish a minimum or maximum group size for masterclasses, because every session is arranged privately. Tell the team how many people you expect when you enquire. The venue holds up to 120 seated or 150 standing for private hire, and the gold birdcage booths suit smaller groups.
Is a cocktail masterclass good for a hen party in Birmingham?
Yes. A cocktail masterclass gives a hen party a shared activity early in the day, and it suits groups where not everyone knows each other. At Siamais you can ask about pairing a private session with Thai food, a banqueting menu or a weekend bottomless brunch. All guests must be over 18 with ID.
Can non drinkers take part in a masterclass?
Yes, ask for it when you enquire. The Siamais bar has a list of eight mocktails called Koh Mak, including a non-alcoholic Pornstar Martini, Mojito and Pina Colada, so alcohol-free versions are a reasonable request. The team will confirm what can be included in your session.
Where is Siamais and how do I get there?
