The classics, done properly
Tucked away in Oozells Square, just behind Brindleyplace, Siamais is one of Birmingham's best loved Thai restaurants. The kitchen turns out fragrant green curry, hand-tossed Pad Thai, punchy tom yum and sharing platters designed for the middle of the table.
Alongside them sit Thai street food classics, fresh seafood, warming soups, bright salads and a full spread of starters and desserts, all cooked with traditional Thai techniques and proper spicing, so every dish tastes like it should.
Regulars come back for the dishes that are hard to find elsewhere in the city: khao soi noodle curry, tom kha gai, panang curry, som tam green papaya salad, Thai fried rice and mango sticky rice to finish.
If you are after an Asian restaurant in Birmingham city centre that takes South East Asian flavour seriously, this is the place: dine in a setting of teal velvet and gold birdcage booths, with a cocktail bar on the other side of the room.

Getting to Siamais in Brindleyplace
6-7 Brindley Place, Oozells Street, Birmingham B1 2HS. Of all the restaurants in Brindleyplace, we are the one tucked into Oozells Square, just behind the canalside main square and next to the Ikon Gallery, a few minutes from the National Sea Life Centre, Symphony Hall and Utilita Arena Birmingham. One of the easiest places to eat in Brindleyplace for a celebration, a family meal or dinner before a show. Open every day from 12pm, until 11pm Sunday to Thursday, midnight on Friday and 1am on Saturday.
From the ICC
Two to three minutes. Leave by the Brindleyplace canal exit, cross the bridge into the main square and Oozells Square is directly behind it.
From New Street
About 16 minutes on foot via Victoria Square, Centenary Square and Broad Street. Or take the tram from Grand Central to Library or Brindleyplace.
From Utilita Arena
Five minutes. Follow the canal towpath towards Brindleyplace, come up into the central square and head through to Oozells Square. Eating before a gig? See our pre-show menu.

Attentive staff. Best Thai food I've had in a while. Fantastic flavours with the Pad Thai and Green Curry. Well worth the price. And if you are veggie like me, the crispy sweet and sour Mock Chicken Balls are the closest to the real thing I've had so far. So good we ordered the side again 😄
